U.S.Politics.the dividing of a state, county, etc., into election districts so as to give one political party a majority in many districts while concentrating the voting strength of the other party into as few districts as possible.
This is one of the tools that both parties utilize to gain an advantage on congressional seats. Usually, the party in power in a state uses gerrymandering to redistrict their state into districts that favor theirs. Some are redistricted and end up looking like a Rorschach test. You cannot hand pick your voters for your districts and end up with a democracy of the people by the people.
We need to have fair and just boundaries such as counties rather than a district that looks like a Rorschach test which will give life to favor one party over another.
